Peace Among the Flames
The other night I read an Abe quote before going to bed about… “When we say make peace where you are, we want you to make peace where Everyone is; we want you to make peace with world events; we want you to make peace with where your friend is in relationship with where you friend wants to be. We want it to be all right with you where anybody is.” I thought I understood and I did “intellectually”.
Tonight I got it to my core, into the deepest part of my Being! We are All Interconnected! I know that and believe that. Whatever I do affects the “whole of life” itself. So when I am “at peace” with my friend whose house just burned to the ground, I am becoming a Presence of Peace in her life. When a hundred of her friends are “at peace” with what happened, they are “Presence-ing Peace in her life.” We are holding space for her to become at Peace herself.
A very angry person can stir up a peaceful crowd. A very peaceful person, like the Dalai Lama, can calm down an angry crowd, merely by his Presence. I need to be at Peace with all things, because this serves anything I am concerned about. It is usually from a place of Peace that Clarity arises. It is from a peaceful place I can hear myself and connect with my inner wisdom. Peace connects me to all that is, and all that I am, and helps me move forward in the direction of my dreams, with courage and faith I can achieve my goals, knowing I am never alone.
My friend’s house burned down and she and her parents are safe. The greatest gift I can give her is my Peace, knowing this will guide her home and taking the next best step forward in her life.
